3 Very Simple Tools that Make Product Managers Look Awesome

As product managers, tools can help us organize ideas, and can help us make those ideas awesome when presenting to stakeholders. Tools can also help us visualize ideas; a visual explanation is always more efficient in getting the point across.

These three tools can make you look super professional with minimal effort.

1 - LucidChart

Are you looking for a tool that can help you build professional looking flowcharts, mindmaps, simple wireframes?

Then LucidChart is for you.

I've used LucidChart for several years now, and I use it most often to create super simple wires and flowcharts. They have tons of templates to choose from so you don't even have to start from scratch. I also like to use mindmaps if I'm trying to think through a new plan or feature - it just helps me get all of my ideas out quickly and group them together.

2 - Airtable

Do you hate excel, but you know you need the functionality of a spreadsheet? Try Airtable!

Build out product roadmaps, content calendars (with images!), or just fancy up any spreadsheet that needs better formatting. Airtable creates really beautiful spreadsheets that are much more functional than excel, because you can insert images and contacts, easily expand sells, and it just looks better.

3 - Typeform

I used to use Survey Monkey for surveys (also a great tool), but I recently discovered Typeform at the suggestion of another product manager, and I like it much better.

Typeform lets you format your surveys in beautifully visual appealing ways.

The whole platform is drag-and-drop, so it's extremely intuitive, so rearranging surveys is easy. See examples of what Typeform can do.

4. BONUS TOOL: FullStory

(I'm signing up this week!)

Are you trying to illustrate a customer journey? Use FullStory to reproduce a customer experience and identify pain points (and successes!) It even shows you JavaScript errors from your customer's browser (if you want that.)

I can't quite vouch for it yet, but I'll let you know how the first week goes!
